Behold – The discipline of focus

For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. Isaiah 43:19 NLT

Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19 AMPC

I find that God is in the business of telling and showing us things to come. He does not just spring new things on us, He wants us to participate in the process of creating with Him. So, He tells us a thing to come, He shows us things to come and invites us to behold it, declare it, believe it, and rejoice in it. He invites us into the creative process so He can birth the new. My only concern with this process is the part we have to play.

Do you not see it? Will you not give heed to it? That’s all He’s asking of us. I want you to see what I’m doing. I want you to take heed, pay attention to what I’m doing. Behold the new until you become it, you behold it until you begin to act and live in that reality although it’s not yet manifested. Pay attention to what I’m doing, so much that it invades your thoughts, words, and actions.

We live in a world with so many distractions, most times we never sense what God is doing in our lives, families, or communities. There’s always something seeking our attention, a new trend, a new app, breaking news, a to-do list, a new training, a need, a desire, a challenge, etc. Sometimes spiritual activities and programs add to our list of distractions. It is difficult to see the new amid distractions. It looks like distraction has become one of the enemy’s most effective tools in keeping us out of God’s agenda.

In this year, God is set to do new things, but would you be a part of it? In this year, God wants to birth something new in your life, in your family, in your community. Would you partner with Him? When it was time for Jesus to be sent to earth, God need Mary to partner with Him. When Israel needed a king, God needed David to partner with Him. When the Israelites needed deliverance from Egypt, God needed Moses to partner with Him. God is still seeking men to partner with Him for the execution of His agenda, He’s looking for men who can get away from the distraction and behold the new until it is made manifest. He’s seeking men who can let go of their agenda to see His manifest, would you partner with God in this season?

Love always

Obebi
